Using your mobile as a modem in Windows

ü Activate IR reception on your handset

ü Ensure the line of sight of the IR link between laptop and handset

ü Laptop will automatically detect your handset, appearing on the task bar

ü Ensure that the IR link remains established between your laptop and handset.

Laptop settings

ü Click on to my computer and then control panel

ü Click on to phone and modem setting

ü In the modem tab select standard modem over IR link

ü Click on to dialing rules tab in the phone and modem option

ü Press edit button

ü In the edit location window, click on to the general tab

ü Select tone option

ü Press ok

Click on the modem properties

ü Select maximum port speed

ü Click on to the advance tab and enter the extra initialization commands, i.e.

AT+cgdcont=1,"IP","connect.mobilinkworld.com","",0,0

ü Confirm the correct initialization string, in order to avoid any errors while connecting

ü Click on to the advance port settings

ü In the advance port settings uncheck the use FIFO buffers

ü Select the com number currently in use

ü Press ok button

ü Click on to change default preferences button

ü Select port speed to maximum

ü Select hard ware flow control to none

ü Press ok and exit modem properties

Setting up a new dial up Connection

ü Go to my computer then control panel

ü Click on to network connection in the control panel

ü Click on to create a new connection.

ü Be sure to select a proper IR modem in your dial up connection.

ü Enter Mobilink as ISP name Press next

ü Enter *99***1# or *99# in the phone number field Press next

ü Uncheck the options and Enter Username mobilink and Password mobilink Press next

ü After making dialup connection simply dial to connect through GPRS and Surf
