Mobilink Receives Environment Excellence Award

Mobilink has always been at the forefront in promoting sustainable business practices and protecting the environment via its CSR initiatives. It has now been recognized for its projects and ground-breaking initiatives by being awarded the 6^th Annual Environment Excellence Awards, organized by the National Forum for Health and Education (NFEH).

The NFEH is a Non-Profit Organization which focuses on environmental, health and educational awareness in Pakistan.  It is affiliated with the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP) and supported by the Ministry of Environment, Government of Pakistan, Ministry of Environment, Government of Sindh and Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry. 

The Annual Environment Excellence Awards are the benchmark for environmental standards in Pakistan and are designed to recognize and promote organizations which make an outstanding contribution to sustainable development. They aim to highlight policies, practices, processes and products from all sectors of business in the country, which help achieve economic and social development without detriment to the environment and natural resources.

Mobilink has been recognized for the following initiatives:

1. Recycled schoolbags from used billboard skins
2. Handset recycling program
3. E-billing initiative
4. Tree plantation drive (a Mobilink Foundation Torchbearer activity)
5. Earth Day celebrations to clean up public areas in collaboration with The Citizens Foundation schoolchildren (a Mobilink Foundation Torchbearer activity).

In 2009 Mobilink is the only telecom operator to receive this award.
