How to read/check Electricity Bill in Saudi Arabia and Subscribe to Bill Notification from SEC (Saudi Electricity Company) – Step by Step Guide with Snapshots (Updated)

1. First you would have to find the ‘Bill Number’ of your residence. This number can be located on the paper bill you would receive at your residence. The location of the bill number on the paper bill is in front of the 1st field on top right which states ‘’ (This is the reference number for all bills   issued by the Company for each customer and all financial operations and processes related to him including the issuance of bills, settlements, payments, connection fees, and meter provision charges. By virtue of the customer’s number, it will be possible to know the due balance against / in favor of the customer, the advance amount, the monthly average consumption rate, or the history of billing, collections, disconnection notices, and number of actual disconnections as well as the information about the customer and his meter.)

2. The numbers are written in Arabic, to translate them into English use the following table:

3. Your total Bill is written on left bottom in a pink colored box in front of the field which states ‘’ (This represents the amount to be paid by the customer to the Company against electric energy consumption, metering tariff, and the previous balance, if any.)

4. The billing month is mentioned on the top left box

means Starting Date of Meter Reading

means Closing Date of Meter Reading

This is the time period (from/to) during which actual consumption takes place (Kw/h).

A little down, means the date on which the electricity would be disconnected if bill payment is not done by then (This date is entered in case that the customer does not pay the value of consumption as per the latest payment date (deadline) shown on the bill . In this case the electricity will be temporarily disconnected till Company dues are paid.)

5. This bill is calculated and charged based on Islamic Calendar, which is Hijri Calendar. To convert from Gregorian to Hijri you can goto http://www.islamicfinder.org/Hcal/index.php

6. A little further down you can see the bill for the current month and for the previous month if previous month’s bill was not paid

7. After getting your Bill Number, go to http://www.se.com.sa/SEC/English/Menu/Customers/Consumption+bills/Billing.htm

8. Enter your Bill Number in front of Bill Inquiry and press ‘View’

9. This would show you a copy of you paper bill by opening a popup window but the numbers would be in English

10. To subscribe to SMS Notifications for your electricity bill, go to http://www.se.com.sa/SEC/English/Menu/Customers/EServices/ServiceSMS.htm

11. Enter your bill number, mobile number and language is already chosen as ‘English’. Press ‘Register’

12. On this you would receive an SMS from ‘ALKAHRABA’ which would confirm your SMS notification subscription with your Bill Number.

13. To subscribe to Email Notifications for your electricity bill, go to http://www.se.com.sa/SEC/English/Menu/Customers/EServices/EmailService.htm

14. Enter your bill number, email address and language is already chosen as ‘English’. Press ‘Register’

15. On this you would receive an email from ebill@se.com.sa which would confirm your email notification subscription with your Bill Number.

16. To check your Account's History and to confirm if there is any amount pending from the previous months, you can go to http://www.se.com.sa/SEC/English/Menu/Customers/Consumption+bills/DetailedReport.htm

17. Enter your Bill Number in front of Bill Inquiry and press ‘View’

18. This would open a popup window and would show you your monthly bill history and a graph as well. This can give you a good idea what is the average bill of this place and how the bill varies in different months of the year.

19. The English translation of the fields titles mentioned above is as follows:

20. If you see ‘غير مسدد’ written in front of any month then that means the bill for that month is not paid yet

21. To check how previous bills were paid, you can goto http://www.se.com.sa/SEC/English/Menu/Customers/Consumption+bills/PaymentReport.htm

22. This would open a popup window and would show you previous bill payments and method of payment.

Q: Heavy Metal: What if you don't know the account number? Can I get it from the energy meter? It has a serial number on it.

A: I have not seen the meter yet but all locations get electricity bills in paper form like above and the account number is on it

 

Q: hi i dont recieved my electrill bill for 3 months already, new apartment dont know account number yet, is there any way to know my account no. bill? i check my meter only serial number is there i call sec no one answering... i have a baby afraid of being disconnection?
