Famous Muslims Scholars’ Educational Background

Dr. Zakir Naik:

Zakir Naik was born in Mumbai, Maharastra, India. He attended St. Peter's High School in Mumbai. Later he enrolled at Kishinchand Chellaram College, before studying medicine at Topiwala National Medical College and Nair Hospital and later the University of Mumbai, where he obtained a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS).

 

Dr. Israr Ahmed:

After graduating from a local high school, Ahmed moved to Lahore to attend the King Edward Medical University in 1950.[3] There, he received MBBS from King Edward Medical University in 1954 and began practising the medicine. His interest in Islam and philosophy grew further and subsequently moved to Karachi, Sindh Province in 1960s where he enrolled in the Karachi University. After submitting his thesis in 1965, he earned MSc in Islamic Studies from Karachi University.

 

Dr. Malik Ghulam Murtaza:

He obtained his Masters degree in Philosophy from Government College in Lahore as well as his Masters in Arabic from The Punjab University. Dr. Malik Ghulam Murtaza (Shaheed) did his PhD in Islamic Philosophy and Metaphysics. After passing his CSS exams, he was appointed as a grade 20 CSP government official in Pakistan, where he served that position for fourteen years.

 

Dr. Farhat Hashmi:

She received her masters degree in Arabic at the Punjab University, Lahore. She trained and took her PhD in “Hadith Sciences” at the University of Glasgow.[5][6]

 

Maulana Tariq Jameel:

After Completing His Higher Secondary School Education (F.Sc) In Pre-Medical (Equivalent To A 'Levels') From Government College, Lahore, He Took Admission In King Edward Medical College In Lahore. He Intended To Do His M.B.B.S., But He Soon Switched To Islamic Education. He Then Went On To Receive Islamic Education From Jamia Arabia, Raiwind (Near Lahore), Pakistan Where He Studied Quran, Hadith, Sharia, Tasawwuf, Logic And Fiqh.

 

Mufti Ismail ibn Musa Menk:

Mufti Menk did his Initial studies in Harare, Zimbabwe. He attained a degree in Shariah Law from the University of Madinah Munawwarah . He went on to  specialize in Jurisprudence in Gujarat, India. He is a student of knowledge trying to disseminate the Deen in the current age.

 

Bilal Philips:

He received his B.A. degree from the Islamic University of Medina and his M.A. in ʿAqīdah (Islamic Theology) from the King Saud University in Riyadh, then to the University of Wales, St. David's University College (now University of Wales, Trinity Saint David). There at the Lampeter Campus he completed his 1993 PhD thesis, Exorcism in Islam.
