Is $120/year in Melbourne as a Senior Software Developer a Good Salary?

An ex-college fellow has asked for an advice, he has been offered Aus $120/year in Melbourne as a senior s/w developer, is it an avg salary, better than avg or lower than avg?

AAS: For Melbourne thats a pretty decent salary . Should be 120K/yr

HQ: should be ok, slightly above average for IT, if this is base only

KB: 120k gross will mean superannuation is included in it.. typically 9.5% , Which leaves take home to be close to 80k. Decent enough for sw dev, Melbourne is more affordable than Sydney..

MO: Wallakumasalam Dear, Han yar it’s above average in Melbourne, Avg in Sydney, I suggest it's a handsome offer man, Cost of living is not expensive in Melbourne
