Hadith

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “There are two expressions which are very easy for the tongue to say, but they are very heavy in the balance and are very dear to The Beneficent (Allah), and they are, ‘Subhan Allah Al-’Azim and ‘Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi.’” [Bukhari Volume 8, Book 75, Number 415]

Hadith

Narrated by Abu Sa'id al-Khudri: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: A man giving a dirham as sadaqah (charity) during his life is better than giving one hundred dirhams as sadaqah (charity) at the moment of his death. [Dawud Book 17 Hadith 2860]

Hadith

The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said, “When Allah wishes good for someone, He bestows upon him the understanding of the Deen.” [Bukhari]

Ayatain and Hadisain

Allah loves those who control anger: “…who repress anger, and who pardon men; verily, Allaah loves Al-Muhsinoon (the good‑doers).” [Aal ‘Imraan 3:134]

“And those who avoid the greater sins, and Al‑Fawaahish (illegal sexual intercourse), and when they are angry, they forgive.” [al-Shooraa 42:37]

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “The stro...ng man is not one who is good at wrestling, but the strong man is one who controls himself in a fit of rage.’’ [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

It was reported in Saheeh al-Bukhaari (6031) that Anas ibn Maalik (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was not a person who insulted people or used obscene language, and he did not curse people. If he wanted to rebuke anyone, he would say, “What is wrong with him? – may his forehead be rubbed with dust.”

Hadisain

Narrated by AbuSa'id al-Khudri (Radhiallahu anhu): Allah's Messenger (sallAllaahu `alaihi wasallam) said:
"When one of you yawns, he should try to restrain it with the help of his hand since it is the Satan that enters therein". [ Sahih Muslim Number 7131 ]

The Prophet (sallAllaahu `alaihi wasallam) said:
"When you yawn, cover your mouth with your hand." (Muslim)

"Try as hard as possible to overcome your yawns while you are in your prayers". (Muslim)

"Allah likes the sneeze and dislikes the yawn. When someone among you sneezes and says: 'Alhamdulillah' (All praise to Allah [for relieving me]), it is essential for all those who hear him to say: "yarhamukallah" (May Allah have mercy on you).

While if someone feels that he is about to yawn, he should try to overcome it, as much as possible [and if it is not possible to overcome it] he must not make sounds like: "haah haah". These sounds are prompted by the shaitan (satan) and he laughs when you make such sounds [while yawning]".

Zinda Hoon - Anwar Maqsood

yeh hai meri kahani
khamosh zindagani
sannata keh raha hai
kyun zulm seh raha hai

ek dastaan purani
tanhayi ki zubani
her zakham khil raha hai
kuch mujh se keh raha hai

chubtay kantay yadoon ke daaman say chunta hoon
girti deewaron ke aanchal mai zinda hoon

bass yeh meri kahani
benishaan nishaani
ek darr beh raha hai
kuch mujh se keh raha hai

bajaye pyaar ki shabnum mere gulistaan mein
baraste rehte hain har simt maut ke saye
siyahiyon se ulajh parti hain meri aankhein
koi nahi .. koi bhi nahi jo batlaye
kitni der ujalon ki raah dekhe
koi nahi hai koi bhi nahi
na pass na durr
yeh pyaar hai
dil ki dharkan
apni chahat ka jo ellan kiye jaati hai
zindagi hai jo jiye jaati hai
khoon k ghoont peay jaati hai
khwaab aankhon se siye jaati hai

ab na koi paas hai
phir bhi ehsaas hai
yahiaon mai uljhi pari
jeene ki ek aas hai
yadoon ka jungle yeh dil
kaanton se jal thal yeh dil

Ayat

“The believers are only those who, when Allah is mentioned, feel a fear in their hearts and when His Verses (Qur’an) are recited unto them, they (Verses) increase their Faith; and they put their trust in their Lord;
Who perform As-Salah and spend out of that We have provided them.
It is they who are the believers in truth. For them are grades of dignity with their Lord, and forgiveness and a generous provision” [8:2]

Soft Reset – the three-key battery pull for your BlackBerry

clip_image001

The other day, I was helping one of my friends get better acquainted with his new BlackBerry Torch. He's no stranger to BlackBerry, he had one before I did. In fact, if you go back and look at my CrackBerry Idol audition, he's the one with the 8820 who told me to get a BlackBerry.  Without that bit of advice, I never would have joined the CrackBerry Team. The other day, he asked me to show him how to restart his smartphone without pulling the battery. Needless to say, I forgot to show him how before I headed home; but that got me thinking. He's probably not the only one wondering how to do this; so B (and everyone else), this post is for you.

Most people know that removing the battery from your BlackBerry is a perfectly acceptable way to reset the BlackBerry. There is another way. A soft reset will accomplish the same thing as pulling the battery but without all the hassle of taking your BlackBerry out of its case, removing the battery door, pulling the battery, waiting for a few seconds, replacing the battery, replacing the battery cover, and returning the device to its protective case.

Incidentally, a "soft" reset is not a kinder, gentler way to restart your BlackBerry. Soft, in this case, means the device is reset by the SOFTware. A "hard" reset involves pulling the battery, a HARDware reset. To accomplish this soft reset, you'll hold three keys down all at the same time. On your keyboard, press and hold the ALT key, press and hold the right SHIFT key, and press DEL. In my mind, this is almost the same as pressing Control-Alt-Delete to restart a Windows PC (at least it once did).  Unfortunately for Storm and Pearl users, this soft reset is only possible on devices with QWERTY keyboards.

Though the reset starts immediately; at first, it won't appear that anything has happened. Don't worry, it has. The screen freezes and you won't be able to use the device (because it's resetting). After a moment, the screen will go blank and that comforting red LED will turn on letting you know that screen won't be blank for long. After a few moments, you'll be back in business with a refreshed BlackBerry, and you didn't even have to touch the battery.

Sin is In

We all know how to suffer, we do it so well

We lock ourselves in our hearts, like it's some kind of shell

We forget that hearts bruise easily

The blood flows like they do from wounds

We use our hearts like wombs

We dig the thorns in ourselves

We try to scream from the shell called the heart

We weep inside

But somehow, we cannot make our lips part…

These words r from the inside of a sinner, who is nearing his death, which is just a couple of minutes away. His whole life is revolving in front of him like some kind of animated movie. The hands, which he used in all kinds of sins, the eyes, through which he enjoyed all the degraded images of life, the legs, he misused in running after money, pelf, power and pomp, every organ; even each cell of his body is giving up now! Has stopped supporting him and he is left with just guilt and sins…

And the angels of death come, and take away his soul, and that’s his miserable end. Whatever he enjoyed, whatever he made through hooks or crooks, all has remained. He went with just the burden of his wrong deeds.

Respected audience, although my topic for the speech is sin is in, and I could have spoken in favor or against this topic, but why not make u the judges? I will just talk about the sins we commit in our daily lives without even realizing that we have committed a sin and consequently want to make u aware of what r we doing and what we should do.

It reminds me of William Shakespeare, who says and I quote, “It makes a great deal of difference whether one wills not to sin or has not the knowledge to sin. Ignorance is not innocence but sin.”

The three divine religions of this world that are Judaism, Christianity and Islam squarely blame the first two humans for initiating sin. They were living in perpetual happiness and harmony in a world of bliss in the GARDEN OF EDEN, God alone knows for how many centuries past till they ate the fruit of the forbidden tree and committed the ‘original sin’.

The dictionary meaning of sin is “deliberate and purposeful violation of the will of Allah". Which in simple words, means: knowingly and willingly going against nature and breaking the laws set by religious bounds.

As was defined by Hazrat Muhammad (SAW), “sin is that which revolves in your heart and which you do not want people to know.” (Muslim).

Now if we look around we can see furious misdoing of Devine laws and morality and it is very surprising to note that those of us who violate more are turned out to be more respected in society and it is becoming increasingly difficult for right to prevail upon wrong.

As it was said,” Commit a sin twice and it will not seem a crime.”

Ill-gotten wealth instead of being banned is a status symbol these days.

I would like to quote an example of our education sector. We all know and it is no secret that many non-deserving students are holding degrees in their hands with scholarship marks. Alone, they might have not even passed their exams but on the strength of their ill-gotten wealth, they bought their way through and reached places where they never deserved to be! This one sin has a snowball effect but all of us accept it without even raising one eyebrow. We fancy it; we like it and commit it.

It is a buzz these days, in many offices, that Mr. so and so who does not accept bribe is considered to be a hindrance in the chain and the rest of the rogue make the life of that one man miserable that he or she is left with no choice but either to shape up or ship out!

Coop scandal, Mehran Bank debt, Taj company fraud and submarine deals are just a few yet crude examples of the government we have and about the people who lead us, but still they are voted to office, time and time again

In my humble opinion, Television has a major role to play in this. Switch on the TV and a queen of silver screen being penetrated into our minds. Their is no doubt that television has a great power to influence in developing value systems and shaping behaviors but then again TV is not dispensing the good it can or it should. I would put it this way that around the world in every house or apartment their sits a wooden or plastic box. As you switch it on you will start to hear an enjoyable music. A little ballerina will step out and will slowly spin around to entertain you to your entirety - but it also has a demon inside and every day along with this act, it changes your moral values and succeeds, if not in totality, a little bit in breaking them down. Would any sensible person do this? Definitely no! But, we are doing it.

What can I say about these big sins, when even misemployment of one hour is a sin.

The major factor is that we are drifting away from our religion and it has really taken a back seat in our lives. Only if we bear in mind the article of faith that there is only one God who is supreme and eternal, infinite and mighty, creator and provider, there is non-equal to Him, and He is God of all mankind and not of any special race or tribe. God is high and supreme but near to those who are pious and thoughtful believers and grants them peace, happiness, knowledge and success. This transitional life will end one day, which it will. We would be risen from the dead to stand for our final and fair trial, then from Adam to the very last person sent on earth and if have been committing sin, will be caste to hell.

Will we still murder, loot, use drugs, will have pride in our ill-gotten wealth, cheat, steal, be dishonest in our dealings, or define our own dress codes?

No! Not at all: At least a wise man can’t. As was clearly mentioned by Robert Browning, “There is no sin except stupidity.”

I can quote 100s of examples here but coz of the time limitations I have to end my speech and I end my speech with these words, “Don’t ever forget! the time, which came on that sinner I mentioned in the very beginning has to come on each and every sinner and whatever we r, whatever we do, whatever we can be, we should not be one of them”.

Thank u…

Ar-Rehman & Ar-Rahim

In the beginning of the Revelation days on the Prophet (SAW), among the most striking features were the 2 Divine names ar-Rahman and ar-Rahim. The word rahman an intensive form of rahim, merciful, was current in the sense of very merciful or boundlessly merciful. The still more intensive rahman, for lack of any concept of it, had fallen into disuse. The Revelation revived it in accordance with the new religion's basic need to dwell on the heights of Transcendence. Being stronger even than ar-Rahim (the All Merciful) the Name ar-Rahman refers to the very essence or root of Mercy , that is to the Infinite Beneficence or Goodness of God, and the Koran expressly makes it an equivalent of Allah: Invoke God (Allah) or invoke the Infinitely Good( ar-Rahman), whichever you invoke, His are the names most Beautiful."

From: Muhammad Umair Sami

We Humans!

In case you needed further proof that the human race is doomed by stupidity, here are some actual label instructions found on consumer goods:

* On a Sears hairdryer: Do not use while sleeping.

* On a bag of Fritos: You could be a winner! No purchase necessary. Details inside. (The shoplifter special.)

* On a bar of Dial soap: Directions: Use like regular soap.

* On a Swann frozen dinners: Serving suggestion: Defrost. (But it's just a suggestion.).

* On Tesco's tiramisu dessert (printed on the bottom of box): Do not turn upside-down.

* On Marks & Spencer bread pudding: Product will be hot after heating.

* On packaging for a Rowenta iron: Do not iron clothes on body.

* On Boot's children's cough medicine: "Do not drive a car or operate machinery after taking this medication."

* On Nytol sleep aid: Warning: May cause drowsiness.

* On most brands of Christmas lights: "For indoor or outdoor use only." (As opposed to what?)

* On a Japanese food processor: Not to be used for the other use. (I gotta admit, I'm curious.)

* On Sainsbury's peanuts: "Warning: contains nuts."

* On an American Airlines packet of peanuts: "Instructions: Open packet, eat nuts."

* On a child's Superman costume: "Wearing of this garment does not enable you to fly." (I don't blame the company, I blame the parents for this one.)

The Most Wanted

He is known as the mysterious personality of this century, he is known as a terrorist by the Western World but is considered a religious hero amongst the Muslims. Whole of the world knows about him yet nobody has any knowledge of his whereabouts. This mysterious man is Osama bin Laden. He belongs to a movement that is termed as the Fundamentalist Islamic Military group but on the other hand this group is termed as the motivating force for the suppressed freedom movements in the world.

Mohammad bin laden, belonged to Yamman. He migrated to Saudi Arabia in the early sixties. Facing the new challenges this man of determination was able to launch his own project with the name of “Bin Laden Construction company”. Their business expanded like a web around the Arabia’s economy.

After his father’s death, Osama led the business following the footsteps of his father. But his life changes completely when Russian Army invaded in Afghanistan in December 1979.

Before mentioning his military adventures in Afghanistan I would like to give a brief preview of Afghanistan’s History.

YEAR

EVENT

1838-1842

Afghanistan invaded by British forces. First Afghan War. Anglo-Indian force heavily defeated. British occupation ended in December

1878-1879

Second Afghan War, precipitated again by Afghan and Russian cooperation, and British invasion. Kabul occupied by British forces.

1919-1926

Angered by British influence, war declared on Britain by Amanullah Khan. He is made the king.

1947-1967

Ongoing border dispute with Pakistan

1973

King Zahir deposed by his cousin Muhammad Daud. Afghanistan declared a republic

1978

Daud killed in coup d’état. Programme of ‘scientific socialism’ initiated by new rulers Taraki and Amin. Armed resistance from Muslims. New government aided by Soviet Union

1979

Afghanistan invaded by Soviet Union, and Babrak Karmal installed as President. Soviet occupation resisted by mujahedin (Taliban are called mujahedin by the western world during the war) through the 1980s

1989

Soviet troops withdraw. Continuation of civil war

1990

Civil War. Increased Islamic influence in area

1996

Strict Islamic regime established in Kabul in 1996 by the Taliban (now termed as fundamentalist Islamic militia according to the western countries)

1997

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia formally recognize legitimacy of Taliban government

1998

US launches missile attacks on Afghanistan

Osama’s involvement in International politics started in mid-1980. In April 1978 Daud was killed during a violent coup d’état who were generally perceived as the Russian Agents. The reason was that he tried to settle their disputes with Pakistan (which was termed as a Pro-American country). The new rulers, organized in a Revolutionary Council led first by Noor Muhammad Taraki, and later by Hafizullah Amin initiated a programme of “scientific socialism” (according to Russian interests). This led to armed resistance by devout Muslims, especially among the mountain tribes.

Unable to control the rebellion movement, Taraki and Amin turned to the USSR for help. Despite Soviet military aid, resistance to the government continued in 1979. In December of that year, Amin was overthrown and killed in a Soviet-backed coup, and Afghanistan was occupied by Soviet troops. In fact, during this era Russians were the actual forces; they assigned a puppet on the Afghani people and then killed him in a so-called coup. More than 3 million refugees fled to neighboring Pakistan. During the mid-1980s, government forces and about 118,000 Soviet troops held major cities and roads but were unable to dislodge the rebel mujahedin. The conflict became an international issue, with the United States and Muslim nations supplying arms and support to the mujahedin, while the USSR was drawn into a protracted, costly, and ultimately futile conflict. The interesting part of this international drama was that American CIA and president Ronald Reagan himself, were interested to drag Osama bin Laden in this war. Osama got his military training right under the nose of American government. In fact America had no interest with the Afghani conflict. Their main purpose was to tear off the Iron Curtain, thus this was just a game of power between the two super powers of that time and Osama played a role of mid-person in that war.

In 1985, Osama officially declared his organization “AL-Quaida” to support the Afghan mujahedin. He supported this movement in every way and brought this issue to international forum. Thousands of Bin Laden Construction Company’s equipment were used to construct roads, hospitals and tunnels. At last in 1989 after the retrieval of Russian army he returned to his motherland Saudi Arabia. Now this Saudi Prince was a celebrity. He was started terming as the motivating force for the Muslims activists all around the world. Now Osama bin Laden was a threat for the international forces. During the Gulf War he kept on criticizing the government’s policies as a punishment his Saudi citizenship was cancelled in 1994. This is indeed the biggest dilemma of the Muslim that they turned their backs on their heroes. He took refugee in Sudan. Now At that time American intelligence was not involving him for any type of terrorist activity directly. The cat came out of the bag in August 1998 when two bombs exploded at the US embassies in East Africa and CIA named Osama bin Laden as the prime suspect. The US launched missile attacks against Afghanistan and Sudan. However in November the Supreme Court of the Taliban totally exonerated bin Laden of terrorist charges.

This doesnot mean that Talibans don’t have any flaws, as I don’t agree with their stubborn policies especially on the issues of Buddhist’s monuments and Christian missionaries. Islam is a religion of peace, flexibility and humanity. It teaches us to have respect for all the religions. Talibans must have acted in a more flexible way. Because of their stubborn attitude they have lost political support on international forum. The flaw on USA part is that they are not providing enough evidences to prove Osama’s involvement in the recent attacks. No doubt all the Muslim countries have condemned this act of terrorism on America. But they have also been condemning the slaughter of helpless people in Palestine and Kashmir. According to a British, Muslim Industrialist “The life of a Muslim or any other helpless person is as much important as that of a American citizen”. Whenever there is an action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Newton’s law can definitely be applied to the prevailing political situation in the world. USA needs to change its policies only in that case it can catch “The Most Wanted”.

A BlackBerry, an iPhone and an Android device go for a swim – what to do when your smartphone gets wet

clip_image001

Water and electricity do not mix. All those electrical components and doodads inside your BlackBerry are carefully insulated… with air. Air is a wonderful insulator; it doesn’t conduct electricity. Otherwise, we’d all get horribly shocked every time we went to unplug a lamp. Water conducts electricity; poorly, but it does. When your smartphone gets dunked in water, all those carefully insulated bits and pieces can short out and damage your BlackBerry.

So what is there to do if your BlackBerry (or other smartphone for that matter) gets wet? I’m not talking about a few sprinkles of rain; I’m talking full-on, dropped it in the river wet. Should you turn it on right away? Put it in the oven? Let it dry overnight? The folks over at Yahoo! News were wondering the same thing. Would any smartphone come back to life after going for a swim?
