Marriages were arranged through the courtesy of ContactPakistan. Seven were

arranged through the donation of anonymous benevolent brothers/ sisters.

See details on our website: www.pravalli.org

Education support to Orphan children

With the help of Raasta Foundation we started to support of 66 orphans in 2005.

We wanted to support 100 orphans initially. But with passage of time, more and

more brothers/sisters came forward to help orphans. The fourth installment was

distributed among 207 children in March 2008. We wanted to stop inducting more

orphans in this program. But with the support of 50 orphans from

Contact Pakistan Community and 50 by The Lady Fatemah Charitable trust

London, 7 more by Raasta foundation and other brothers the total no has swelled

to 291. We plan to stop at the figure of 300 orphans support. During 2008 we

increased stipend from Rs. 100 per month to Rs. 200 per month per child. We

have already distributed 5 six monthly installments and sixth installment will be

distributed in March 2009.

College / University support to poor/orphan  Talented students.

We are supporting poor needy students for college / Univ. education. In that we pay them

Rs. 1000 per month after selecting them through a test conducted after announcement

of Matric results every year. We supported 4 students in 2005, 6 in year 2006, 13 in

year 2007 and 15 in year 2008.  Thus up till now we have supported 38 students.

4 are in Universities rest in colleges.

Skill Development / Training

In order to impart skill to these village boys for earning their livelihood, we got two boys

trained in PITAC Lahore in repair of refrigerators and Air conditioners.

We have 7 skill Development centers in which 112 Girls are learning handcraft + clothes

stitching.

Water Supply Schemes

Following water supply schemes were completed during 2008.

We have completed Water supply scheme village Riati. That was pending since long due

to many local reasons. The water was struck at 45 feet and bore developed to 85 feet

depth. In this village women folk had to walk 2 Kms down the hill to fetch the water on

their heads up the hill. After completion of the bore a 95 year old lady of the village

remarked.

“I am thankful to these unknown people who got us water, that was right under our feet.

I spent all my youth bringing water from 1 Km down the hill on my head thus traveling

2 Kms for every pitcher.  It was most agonizing part of my life and of the life of all the

ladies of these 20 families that live here. My youth cannot be brought back but our

children will be spared of this donkey work. Our men have been so heartless to our

suffering, they could have pool resources for collective good but they never came out of

their petty differences, jealousy and mistrust. They never cared for us, the women, who

are their mothers, sisters and daughters. May Allah bless all those who took part in this

work.”

During the month of May we completed Water bore at village Damakka – Nara.

It was donated by Maj Gen ® Hamid Hassan Butt and Col ® Khan Nazir.

One hand pump sponsored by The Lady The lady Bibi Fatima (A.S.) Charitable

Trust, UK was installed in village Mairlan. Water was struck at the depth of 180

feet in a mountainous village where people had to walk many Kms to get water.

The advantage of this hand pump is that it is located near to two schools.

That will help he little children to get water.

Hand pump was given in locality Dakhan in village Khoyan to pump water to their houses

from down below.

One hand pump was successful in village Kalanda with the help of an anonymous brother.

Another water supply scheme in upper Bagla was completed with the help of

“The Lady Bibi Fatima (A.S) Charitable Trust London”.

Water supply scheme Chirala was completed by providing them 3000 feet HDP

Pipe. This was sponsored by an anonymous brother.

Water supply scheme in village Fateh Abad was completed by providing them 500

feet HDP Pipe. This was sponsored by an anonymous brother.
