Viber, one of Skype’s biggest competitors, has launched a new beta for BlackBerry users. Free voice calls are now possible with Viber in their latest released beta. The company wants to roll out the feature as quickly as possible with the beta. Then they plan to push an official release shortly thereafter. According to Viber’s CEO, this is a very important move for the company: “BlackBerry is one of the most important markets for us and represents our third largest user base. We are thrilled to bring this community free voice calling, letting them communicate freely with all of their important contacts across multiple platforms.” The Viber beta version 2.4 is only compatible with BlackBerry OS 5 and 7. Apparently, it is not possible with OS 6 “due to inherent limitations of the operating system.” If you have one of the supported BlackBerry devices, check out the Viber beta with voice calling here. via TechCrunch The post Viber Adds Voice Calls to Legacy BlackBerry OS in Beta is from N4BB.COM |
