Download This Android App – All The Cooks

I love to cook. It’s one of my favorite past times, mainly because it’s something that takes a lot of work and creativity, and ends with eating. As it happens, I also love to eat. With All The Cooks running on my BlackBerry Z30, I’m able to discover a whole slew of new recipes from other passionate cooks from all over the world. What is it? All The Cooks is a recipe-slash-social network app. With it, users can search for recipes in various categories, view what’s popular, like certain recipes, create a shopping list in order to make a recipe, and even add your own dishes. There are tons of features in this app that will delight everyone on the Foodie scale. The Good There are a lot of great things that I love about this app. The user interface is top notch. It doesn’t really follow the boring Android layout like other apps. While it does have the menu that must be accessed from the top left of your screen, that’s really the only Android-like features it has. When you get into a recipe, you get a small picture of the finished product, which is taken and uploaded by the person who added the recipe. Swiping down will show you the full picture, and swiping up will display the ingredients and directions. There’s also a small heart that you can tap to add the recipe to your favorites. If you like a particular recipe, you can also visit the profile of the person who added it to see what other goodies they’ve placed on the social network. I haven’t tried adding a recipe just yet, but the process itself seems rather painless. Once I get that done, I’ll post it in the comments below for you to check out. The Bad When I originally downloaded the app, I had some issues with the pictures displaying, but after a phone reset they started showing up successfully. There are still a few lags here and there with some photo loading, and the app has crashed on me on more than one occasion, but it’s not frequent enough to cause any major annoyances. Download it? Yes you should definitely get this app. It’s loads of fun to use, and has tons of features that I haven’t even touched yet.
