If you are planning to visit KSA, Don't buy Saudi Mobile SIM (STC/Mobily/Zain/Virgin/Lebara) from Unofficial Sellers! (Updated)

Saudi Government's CITC has recently made it mandatory to have Biometric Fingerprinting while buying a New Saudi Mobile SIM.

Many Umrah/Hajj and Travel services worldwide sell Saudi Mobile SIMs to their customers. After the above mentioned requirement by Saudi Government, any Saudi Mobile SIM which is sold to you by unofficial seller will get blocked after a few days.

Also if you are visiting Makkah/Madina, you will find many people with small desks selling SIMs outside Masjid Haram and Masjid e Nabvi. Those SIMs will stop working after a few days.

Always buy your Saudi Mobile SIM from official service center of a Saudi Mobile Operator. If you are a visitor in KSA then you can buy a Saudi Mobile SIM by using your passport as identification. The list of Saudi Mobile Operators is as follows:

  1. STC
  2. Mobily
  3. Zain
  4. Bravo
  5. Virgin mobile KSA
  6. Lebara KSA

You can find the official service centers of Saudi Mobile Operators at all major locations including surroundings of Masjid Haram and Masjid e Nabvi.

  1. Hi Nauman,

Instead of buying any KSA operator SIM, please keep using your own PK/any SIM and connect to STC & dial 1500 to have your LRN (Local Roaming Number), which will enable you to use your roaming number as local with local charges while dialing here in KSA & also local while dialing back to pakistan.

You don't need to get it registered with your passport or anything, no finger prints needed too.

    Steps:
    -Register with STC network
    – dial ‪1500‬ and follow the IVR then you will get the local number.
    - and then every call to suadi numbers (STC/Mobily/Zain) will be considered as national call..
    - dial *1 prefix before the called number while inititing call from LRN.
    - Anyone can call you as normal number here in KSA (05xxxxxxx)/(+9665xxxx).
    - Initial registration will give you free 5 SAR balance valid for 3 days, you must to re-charge enough to extend the validity for that given number else this number will be removed & you need to re-register & then you will get another LRN number.
    - Recharge using normal sawa recharge to extend validity.

I hope this is clear to all.
